Cool MTB Challenge - Finish Times

A torrential downpour first thing didn't dampen the spirits too much of the Cool Challengers as the sun eventually broke through and remained out for the majority of the day. This gave the riders a pleasant, if a bit muddy, riding experience. At least the temperature was decent enough as previous years have encountered near freezing and hailstorms.
If you want to keep riding through the winter Gorrick organises the Brass Monkeys Enduros which are a short lap offroad race, more info here...

Area 51 near Tunnel Hill was the venue for Round 1 of the Autumn Classics. The venue has only been used twice before and is quickly establishing itself as a fun but tough course to race. The hills may seem short but they're steep punchy little numbers, and the singletrack is unrelenting in a flowy twisty turny fashion...

TrailTrax Cheriton - Results

Sorry these are posted a week after the event, webmaster has been away.
The riders benefited from cool weather whilst out, with the sun making an appearance at 1.30pm in time for the prize giving. We have a few clearances in the solo categories, and one of the best pair scores we have seen for a long time. The Flower Pots were excellent once again, laying on a BBQ and their favourite beers for the happy riders. Full results download via the link above, and series results update is here.

TrailTrax Tilford - Results

The revamped Barley Mow at Tilford hosted the second TrailTrax Navigation event of the year. Conditions were favourable as always in this picturesque Surrey village as riders negotiated the challenges of the many bridleways, byways and sandy commons the area has to offer. Dave Brothers (an ex-local who knows the land intimately) laid out the checkpoints. He cleverly placed the venue in the upper most North East corner bringing land into play not used before as far as Bramshott. So get a high or clearance score required a good deal of new navigation and a fair amount of climbing. I wonder how much ascent the winners did? Let us know on the Facebook thread. Round 3 is just a month away on the 7th August at Cheriton on the South Downs.
