Get your entry in now for the Gorrick 100
by Paul Howard, 27 Apr 03.
The endurance event, sponsored by Exodus Adventures, is to be held at Swinley Forest on the 8 June. Set yourself a personal challenge of riding a 10 mile lap of varied off road terrain, by choosing in advance how many laps you wish to complete; 1, 2, 3, 5 or 7. All riders who complete their declared number of laps will receive a commemorative plaque on the day, along with the chance of winning many more great prizes.
The entry forms are now available (from the Calendar page) and we strongly advise pre-entering to avoid queuing on the day.
The event will provide funds for the Berkshire Air Ambulance Service, a very worthy cause for mountain bikers, so all vehicles will be charged to enter the venue.
Swinley Forest Cycle Permits
The annual permits are now due for renewal, and they're still good value at only £12. It is a condition of cycling within Swinley Forest that you must hold a cycle permit if over 14 years of age. Your permit money helps pay for the ?5 million Public Liability insurance cover, the Crown Estate for general forest upkeep, the scheme administration, signage in the forest, and materials for trail maintenance. Download the application form from the Swinley Forest Cycling page and send it off today.
See you all Yateley Heath Wood next weekend for the final round of the Spring Series.
