The longer lap of Yateley made quite a change to the tight and technical course at round 2. But the totally dry conditions kept speeds high, except for the cooling watersplash through the stream! So expect something different again at round 4 as we move to Frith Hill, Deepcut on the 3rd April. This new venue will provide plenty of scope with mixed woodland singletrack, short steep climbs and descents, and open heathland. Send your pre-entry in today to avoid paying the on-the-day surcharge.
Todays prize draw for a mountain biking holiday to Tuscany, provided by Exodus Travels, was won by Roly Lambert. You too could be in with a chance of winning just by completing the Exodus information vouchers at Registration at selected rounds.
BumpyBikes.com awarded ?50 to the fastest lap completed in the Open Mens race. Alex Darby took the honours with a second lap of 28m 29s eventually finishing in second place overall.
Alex can be seen here in the multiple headwear receiving his prize from Jon Lucas.
TrailTrax Navigation Challenges
Howabout trying something a little different next weekend? As a change from chasing people round the trees a TrailTrax Navigator puts both your riding and mental skills to the test. With the aid of an OS map extract you have one and a half or three hours to navigate to as many checkpoints as possible scattered around the countryside on offroad tracks. Unlike racing you can ride with a mate in the Pairs category or stay Solo. More details on the event at Alton on the 20th March and a downloadable entry form can be found on the TrailTrax section of the website.
