A whole week of hard work preparing the Crowthorne trails paid off to make the most of the forest that wasn't underwater. Many riders agreed what a superb course it was with just a few short sloppy sections of mud to squelch through. The watersplash at the bottom of the start straight hill was quite entertaining as it appeared to deepen during the day, cleaned the bikes though! Full results are available via the link above and later in the week the first Series Points will be awarded. Don't forget at each round before the start of selected categories all riders have the chance of winning vouchers from our local bike shop sponsors. So keep your ears open if your number is picked. We are grateful as ever to Saddle Skedaddle for continuing their title sponsorship.
Round 2 is on the 2nd March at Caeser's Camp near Aldershot more regularly used for the Brass Monkeys Enduros, so you can look forward to thrashing round a shorter fun course with excellent descents. See you there.

Merida Brass Monkeys - Round 2 Results

'Cheeky Climbs'... the abiding memory from the Christmas Cracker at Ceasers Camp today. In my eyes this venue is one of the absolute best we have in the area. The mix of long steady climbs and 'that' short steep one, plus the varied mix of natural heathland trails is always a pleasure to ride and more so to race. Si Panter had excelled himself once again creating this little gem. The early start for the four hour riders allowed their first couple of laps to be run off in dry conditions. But the mizzle soon arrived as forecast changing the more earthy trails to slightly slippery ones, making for great fun on the descents. Despite the rain all remained rideable apart perhaps for some 'that' climb again, and again, and again.
Full results are as usual on Timelaps. Series points will be updated prior to round 3 on the 5th January at Ash Ranges. From all at the Army CU and Gorrick have a great Christmas and see you in the New Year.
