Black Wood

Many thanks to everyone who came to Black Wood today and supported us despite the awful weather overnight. We hope the hasty rearrangment of the registration and parking area plus delayed start times didn't disrupt your day too much. You may wonder why we chose Black Wood as a venue when there is a chance of "April showers" making the going tough. Well recently areas of Hampshire such as Yateley, Warren Heath and Heath Warren were classified as Special Protection Areas (SPA's) for bird nesting, which limits the activities allowed between April and the end of August. Therefore we have only Black Wood, Crowthorne and Surrey Hill available during this period. We are hopefully working toward a resolution to allow access to more areas again next year.

A couple of minor points to note; a Giro helmet was left behind - please contact us to reclaim it. The toilets were repeatedly found to be blocked, probably all that nervous tension getting stuck in the u-bend. Please let one of the officials know so as they can be cleared, it's a mucky job but someone's got to do it!

The final round of the Spring Series returns to Surrey Hill on the 9 May. Before then we have a Rally Raid navigation event on Easter Saturday, followed by the Gill 100 Enduro Challenge on the 25 April also at Surrey Hill/Swinley Forest. Also just to let you Raiders know there will be bacon and egg rolls available in the morning before your ride.
