What the riders had to say about Black Wood

Jonathan... "The venue was great. Particularly enjoyed the bombholes! Bit bumpy in places so very glad I've just got suspension. I'll be there next year if it's available."

Paul... "Just to let you know I thought Black Wood was a great course. Enough technical stuff and very fast. Plenty of room on the course for passing and it was great to be able to see riders in front to chase them. Excellent course."

Nicky... "Good race yesterday - enjoyable. I must admit I felt every bump and lump and there were plenty of them. In a year of mountain biking that's the first time I've ever craved a full sus bike! I've only done one other race which was Yateley Heath at the end of the Spring series earlier this year. I didn't think yesterday's course was as varied as that, but it was still good to ride somewhere different."

Simon... "Great race yesterday, I found it easy to find out what was going on from really knowledgeable and helpful people on site. Thanks for making it easy for a first timer!"
"I rode at Checkendon earlier this year (during the ride for a flight weekend - so not racing) and I would say that it was easier to pass at Blackwood, as there were wider tracks spaced out around the course, and Blackwood is a lot rougher. Now I understand 'why' full suspension."

Nick... "After a season of time trialling I was really looking forward to the first Gorrick and the Black Wood venue was just great. Very fast technical descents, excellent use of the bomb holes and not too torturous climbs. I was sorry to retire on the second lap of the Vets race with a seized peddle but that course was very unforgiving and found any weakness in machinery."
"The usual Gorrick organisation. Course well marked out, good start area, amusing, informative and well delivered commentary. I didn't realise there was so much preparation until I met the lads the day before."
