by Simon Panter, 01 Jul 13.
The Army Cycling Union’s "Are You Tough Enough" MTB Enduro is this coming Sunday 7th July. Time for a little reminder and to finalise the on the day detail for the recently added 6 Hour Open Cat and remind you to get your online entries in. Online entry closes on Tuesday 2nd July then it goes to on the day entry, so get your entries in to save £3.
Registration: Race registration opens at 8.30am for the collection of numbers and registration on the day, you are advised to enter at least 1-2 hrs before race starts to allow for warm up and pre-ride.
The Course: The course will be available to ride as soon as you have your race number and not before, if found riding without an authorised number you will be asked to leave, for insurance reasons. The course is around 6.5-7 Miles in length and will be clearly marked with white, red tape and marker arrows throughout, precise details on the day. Just follow the markers, Easy! The course itself is using some existing trails which you have all been used too in the Gorrick races along with some great new additions and resurrecting some long lost trails on Frith Hill and don’t forget those lovely little killer climbs which we all love to hate.
Race Times: The 6 Hour Race will start at 10am , the 4 Hour Race will start at 12pm, the 2 Hour Race will start at 2pm and the Fun will start at 3pm , with ALL Racing finished at 4pm, so that all riders finish together and add to the atmosphere at the prize giving and give all a great chance to win a spot prize, you have to be there to win it! If you are racing and you cross the line with 1 minute to go for your relevant race length, you can go out and do another lap. If you cross the line on or after your relevant race length you cannot do another lap. Prize giving will follow ASAP.
