Saddle Skedaddle Spring Series 2 - Tunnel Hill: Results and Photographs

New trails aplenty greeted 500 riders at the first Saddle Skedaddle Spring Series round at the popular Tunnel Hill. The Gorrick Team have been working hard the last couple of weeks creating a course that would be significantly different to the Brass Monkeys race in January proving what a versatile venue it is. And as usual riders raved about the mix of fast flowing descents, tricky twists and sharp breathtaking ups. Anyone who stayed away today thinking the country is doomed to wet weather and mucky trails missed an absolute peach, even the sun shone.
The new start times seemed to prove popular and hopefully no one missed their race! And now there's even more of a reason to be at the start on time as we have introduced lucky prize draws in selected categories at each round. Riders whose numbers are drawn win a £50 voucher, sounds good to me.
At each round trophies are awarded to the top 10% in each category, minimum 1st and 2nd, except Expert who will receive cash prizes at each event of the series. Trophies will be engraved with winners' names and will be available for collection at the following event from the Commentary Caravan.
The Spring Series awards points to the top 15 finishers in all categories with the exception of Under 10 & 12's, Beginners and Fun. Points are 30 for 1st place, down to 1 for 15th place. You may score points in all four rounds but must score in a minimum of three rounds to qualify in the series and be eligible for a series prize, more details here.... The points will always be updated toward the end of the following week to allow for any timing issues to be resolved.
