Merida Brass Monkeys 3 - The Hangover: results
by Paul Howard, 13 Jan 13. Results [ 1» ]
What a thrilling end to another fantastic Brass Monkeys Enduro Series. Tunnel Hill always provides for such a great course with trail conditions that many wouldn't believe are possible in the winter. The team have worked hard all week as they do at every venue prior to the races searching out the best trails and building new singletrack to avoid the worst of the wet stuff. Even with another record turnout the course never seemed too busy and the longer more open start seemed to help spread riders out. I think my favourite descent is still London View that ends by going under the railway bridge. But could you count the number of bottles in the Bottle Graveyard half way down? What was your favourite trail? Answers on our new Facebook page please.
A massive thank you to all the sponsors who support the series, and everyone behind the scenes who help make the events so good. Roll on the 2013/14 series!!
The day finished with the Series prize presentations held in the warm and toasty marquee. If you're keen to know where you finished in the series the points will be calculated late in the week to allow for any timing errors to be corrected, as the results are provisional until then.
We know Tunnel Hill is a popular riding venue but please if you ride here and the other MOD Training Areas, respect the soldiers that are training. DO NOT ride through their exercises and please dim lights at night. It is only with your cooperation that we continue to get access to the MOD venues, thank you.
Looking ahead, what's next? The Spring Series kicks off on the 17th February and yes we're back here at Tunnel Hill. The laps will be nearer 4 to 5 miles for the cross country racing and do expect to ride a completely different set of trails as there is so much to play with. See you there.
