Spring Series - Round 4 Results

by Paul Howard, 28 Mar 10. Results [  ]

We're over halfway through the Spring Series now and it's shaping up to be a battle royal at the next two rounds for the ever important series points. A number of the regular riders were elsewhere today so it was good to see new faces taking to the podiums. Talking of winners, the Saddle Skedaddle sponsored prize draw was won by Berks On Bikes member Rudi Freeguard who placed 29th in Fun, congratulations.

Joolze Dymond, our race photographer was not able to attend today so apologies we can't provide any images.

Porridgepot Hill is well known for it's steep climbs and yet again the course didn't disappoint. Always a tough venue, a clear head and some deft skills were the order of the day to clean the climbs and ride the techy bits. They were all made just a tad trickier by exposed roots and a few squidgy sections of mud which slowed the going. If you want to try your hand racing back at Porridgepot, reserve the 4th July for the Army Cycling Union, Are You Tough Enough Enduro. The course extends to approx 8 miles but covers a lot more terrain with a greater mix of trails and longer descents.

Looking ahead to Round 5 on the 18 April, there is a likelihood that due to pressures from English Nature, we may not be able to use Tunnel Hill. We hope to have confirmation soon so please check back on the website for updates, but be rest assured whatever happens we have a great backup in mind.

Online entry for the Gorrick 100 Enduro Challenge on the 2 May is now open at MBSA. We highly recommend you pre-enter because due to the early race start times and the large amount of people going off together we don't want you to be delayed and miss your start.

That's all for now, time to relax with a beer!
