Merida Brass Monkeys Enduro Series Preview - Round 1 Pre-entry extended to 27th November

by Jane Lucas, 23 Nov 09.

BREAKING NEWS: Due to your overwhelming interest in the Brass Monkey Winter Enduro series and an unprecedented demand for entries, we have now reached our limit of 400 riders. The team have however been able to extend the course to give you more room and therefore we are able to increase the rider limit to 500. We have reopened ONLINE entries which will now close at 12 noon on Friday 27 November 2009. Please tell your friends to enter now as there will be NO ENTRY ON THE DAY.

Now that our cross country season has ended, we wanted to remind you about our upcoming Merida Brass Monkeys Enduro Series which kicks off on Sunday 29th November at Rushmoor Arena, Aldershot, Hants with the Winter Warmer. We are working in collaboration with the Army, supported by some amazing sponsors and you can expect some outstanding new venues especially chosen for their suitability for Enduro mountain bike racing. Endurance racing gives all riders a chance to shine. Whether you are a sprinter or a slogger, a good strategy, careful pacing and a little pre-event preparation will always give you a satisfying result. Race to win or race to finish, either way any level of rider regardless of fitness can enjoy these events. There are 4, 2 and 1 hour age related time slots to choose from and 7 mile laps. It's a Series so all rounds will count, there will be a Podium presentation of trophies on the day, with Series prizes at the last round and also some cracking spot prizes.

All the venues have the very best course features that we know you expect from us, like fast flowing single track interspersed with fire track, all coupled with an experienced team, computerised chip race timing, results system with position and time, commentary, photographer, Merida Bikes stand, trade stands, refreshments, toilets, water, bike washing, paramedic medical cover and ambulance, radio linked mobile and static marshals and plenty of parking.

We’ve already had a large pre-entry and entries will close when it reaches 400, so don’t wait too long to chat to your friends and enter as we do not expect to be doing entries on the day. There are plenty of vantage points for safe spectating too, so you can bring along your family and friends on the day.
