Merida Summer Monkey Enduro: Results and Photographs

The morning felt decidedly 'un-summery ' for a Summer Monkey as the temperatures for the most part hovered around a chilly 10degC. The first wave of 2hr and 6hrs racers took to the 6 mile course at 9am and they were to encounter a worthy course full of a variety of fun sections. There may not be much elevation at Frith Hill but you constantly seemed to be going up or down using the terrain at it's best to provide flow through the technical trails. All very enjoyable I must say.
The lead 6hr riders both Solo's and Pairs clocked up an impressive 11 laps, crikey that's nearly 70 miles. Later in the morning the 3hr and 4hr races started including the inaugural round of the Fat Bike Series, just to prove that 4" wide tyres are far from slow and work just fine on your normal mtb trails.
Congratulations to everyone that came and raced, we hope you enjoyed yourselves. Also a massive thanks as ever to Merida Bikes, Four4th Lights, MuleBar and all the sponsors that support the Monkey race events. See you in the winter!
Next up... Torq In Your Sleep 12hr race on the August Bank Holiday.
