DATE CHANGE - Merida Brass Monkeys 3 - WBR Hogmoor Enclosure Bordon - now 5 March
by Jane Lucas, 30 Jan 17.
we have postponed MBM 3 from Sunday 5 February to Sunday 5 March. We have done this because, based on our considerable
experience of organising mtb events, we believe that the extremely wet
weather forecast for this coming week together with ongoing construction
work on part of the venue will adversely affect the event and spoil your
enjoyment of it...

Gorrick Skedaddle Spring Series 2017
by Jane Lucas, 12 Jan 17.
This is the year that we will be marking 25 years organising mountain bike events. It all started for us in November 1992 at Crowthorne Wood, and we'll be back there on 5 November 2017 with a special event, plus details of our Spring Series and venue...
Brass Monkeys 2 - The New Year Hangover: Results and Photographs
by Paul Howard, 08 Jan 17. Results [ 1» ] Photos [ 1» ]
Round 2 may have been titled the New Year Hangover but judging by the enthusiasm and pace of the 100's of riders there weren't many hangovers lingering. The 2 hour race shot off round the start field at xc race pace, riders keen to establish position in the fun singletrack that followed - and there was plenty of it. Those more used to racing the 12:12 TORQ in your Sleep at Minley Manor will have noticed a real mix up to the trails with some old favourites such as Back to Front, Sponge Bob, and Banksey split into two sections. Everything was very rideable as a light mizzle descended, subtly changing the character of the course and trail conditions. It just made drifting into the corners letting the bike choose it's own natural path even more fun. Or was that just me?! Read more...

Well done to all who rode today at Round 1 - The Christmas Cracker. And what a cracker of a course. Just over 7 miles of great fun trails sinuously twisting and flowing round Porridgepot Hill using all the best features...

by Jane Lucas, 24 Nov 16.
As you will know by now if you were pre-entered and have received your email
with a full explanation and a choice of entry options, we have had to
postpone Round 1 of the Merida Brass Monkeys Series.
Round 1 will now be Sunday 18 December, Sunday 8 January will be Round 2 and
another Round will be added in the New Year to complete the Series.
We share your frustration and disappointment. Thank you for your support,

In memory of Dudley Blackwell
by Jane Lucas, 09 Nov 16.
We like to think that our events are always very welcoming and over the
years many riders and their supporters have become our friends. Daran
Blackwell has been a regular rider since our earliest days and his father
Dudley was his greatest supporter - always at the events cheering him on.
We were therefore very sad to hear that Dudley had passed away in March, and
our sympathies are with Daran and his family. He was a lovely character and
will be missed.
Autumn Classic 2 - Results and Photographs
by Paul Howard, 06 Nov 16. Results [ 1» ] Photos [ 1» ]
Winter thermals were the order of the day as racers were greeted by cold and frosty conditions. Nonetheless the racing was HOT. Considering Crowthorne Wood has been Gorrick's spiritual home for nearly 25 years the course is always fresh. And once again the trail team mixed it up so you never quite knew what surprises laid around the next bend, of which there many, and roots...
Autumn Classic 1 - Results and Photographs
by Paul Howard, 09 Oct 16. Results [ 1» ] Photos [ 1» ]
Area 51 near Tunnel Hill was the venue for Round 1 of the Autumn Classics. The venue has only been used twice before and is quickly establishing itself as a fun but tough course to race. The hills may seem short but they're steep punchy little numbers, and the singletrack is unrelenting in a flowy twisty turny fashion...
