Merida Brass Monkeys - series starts Sunday 24 Nov

by Jane Lucas, 17 Nov 13.

Next Sunday 24 November sees the first round of our very popular Merida Brass Monkeys Winter Series, with FOUR events this year, brought to you by Gorrick and the Army. The Series features some outstanding venues specially chosen for their suitability for mountain bike enduro racing.

Round 1 is at Minley home of the 12:12 Torq in your Sleep Summer weekend enduro which has some great riding features, however we will be entering the venue by another route with the nearest postcode being GU17 9JS, so look out for the signs. The entrance is at the roundabout that intersects the A327 with the B3013.

This year, due to rider requests, we have introduced a 3 hour category for 50+ male riders only – this gives older riders a category of their own and will help to ease congestion on the course at peak times. Otherwise there are the usual 4hr, 2hr, Junior and Newcomer categories that male and female riders may choose from.< / p>

New for this season too are the Start Times which are now from 09.30hrs, so that the course closes at 13.30hrs and the prize giving is at 14.30hrs.

Each event will have full facilities and there will be trophies to be won at each round and also for the Series, plus some Merida kit to be won as spot prizes.

Full details are on the ACU Brass Monkeys web site and final updates will be on The Brass Monkeys Face book and on Twitter@Gorrick. Online entry is on MBSA and please remember that these events are entered by PRE-ENTRY ONLY and entry for Round 1 will close late on Tuesday 19 November.
