Merida Brass Monkeys - Round 2 Results
by Paul Howard, 15 Dec 13. Results [ 1» ]
'Cheeky Climbs'... the abiding memory from the Christmas Cracker at Ceasers Camp today. In my eyes this venue is one of the absolute best we have in the area. The mix of long steady climbs and 'that' short steep one, plus the varied mix of natural heathland trails is always a pleasure to ride and more so to race. Si Panter had excelled himself once again creating this little gem. The early start for the four hour riders allowed their first couple of laps to be run off in dry conditions. But the mizzle soon arrived as forecast changing the more earthy trails to slightly slippery ones, making for great fun on the descents. Despite the rain all remained rideable apart perhaps for some 'that' climb again, and again, and again.
Full results are as usual on Timelaps. Series points will be updated prior to round 3 on the 5th January at Ash Ranges. From all at the Army CU and Gorrick have a great Christmas and see you in the New Year.

by Jane Lucas, 04 Dec 13.
Round 2 of the Merida Brass Monkeys Series is on Sunday 15 December at CAESAR'S CAMP, Aldershot. It's a massively popular venue, despite the hills, as what goes up must come down and the downs are superb! This venue will ride well, whatever the weather, and will produce a surprise around every corner...
Merida Brass Monkeys - Round 1 Results
by Paul Howard, 24 Nov 13. Results [ 1» ]
Full results from Minley are now available via the link above, and the series positions will be posted prior to round 2 on 15th Dec. So how was your first Monkey of the season? Great fun by all accounts. The new arena field allowed for a totally different course setup with a number of trails run in reverse plus plenty of new ones. The course was in amazing condition thanks to the very hard work of the trail bunnies who had to contend with major tree logging destroying many of the regular routes. So just three weeks to round 2, make sure to get your entry asap, as plenty of people missed out despite entry being open for 3 months! Also keep an eye on the websites for venue and course updates.

Merida Brass Monkeys - Venue Changes
by Paul Howard, 12 Nov 13.
This year's four round Merida Brass Monkeys Winter Enduro Series starts on Sunday 24 November with Round 1 - The Winter Warmer. As our land use for each round is always subject to the military not needing to use it when we would like to, this can sometimes lead to changes. Please check here in the week or so leading up to each event.
However we can now confirm that Round 1 will take place at Minley Manor. READ MORE...
Autumn Classic 2 - Results
by Paul Howard, 10 Nov 13. Results [ 1» ]
It was a welcome return to Minley Manor having only raced there for the 12 hour enduro in August, albeit on a very different course layout. The team did well to plan a course at such short notice after the cancellation of Crowthorne. Although the recent forestry work has certainly had an impact on the trails we'll be working hard to clear or redesign them where possible. So well done to everyone that came and raced. The warm sun all day certainly helped raise spirits, and despite some puddles and soft trails you all seemed to be grinning through the splashes!!
It's just two weeks until Round 1 of the Merida Brass Monkeys Winter Enduro so get your entry in now. Remember there is no entry on the day.
VENUE CHANGE: Gorrick Autumn Classic 2 now at Minley Manor, 10 November
by Jane Lucas, 06 Nov 13.
For reasons beyond our control, we will not be able to hold our Endura Autumn Classic 2 cross country event at Crowthorne Wood this Sunday. We do apologise for any disappointment or inconvenience that this may cause.
We will however still be running the event, at Minley Manor, Yateley, Hants.
The event will be well signed (you don’t go into the actual Manor house entrance) and GU17 9UF is the nearest postcode which is for the houses on the venue’s entrance road. The entrance is a good tarmac to gravel road off the main A327 Minley Road, and only a minute from the M3 junction 4a.
This venue is well known to those of you who have ridden the 12:12 TORQ in your Sleep and, despite some tree thinning in the central section which we have had to work around, we have designed an XC course that will include many of your favourite sections.
All the facilities will be there as usual, and we look forward to seeing you there.

Test Valley Tour Cool Challenge Finish Times
by Paul Howard, 28 Oct 13.
The Cool Challenge returned to Andover for it's annual visit and riders were luckily treated to sun and the odd light shower. Careful trail plotting had made the most of the local bridleways and byways with the best trails in Collingbourne Woods serving up a good dose of twisty fun. Finish times are provisionally listed below. Andover local Adam Vaughan won the prize draw for a Saddle Skedaddle mountain biking weekend, well done. That's it for 2013, we'll be back for the Hot MTB Challenge on 8 June 2014.
